Description
Sustainability will be the only way to do fashion in the future. In our first Dottie Rose Foundation & Slalom Build Trashion Project, students will be challenged to think about how they can craft an apparel design concept (ex: handbag, skirt, accessories) that is both sustainable and circular. What is Trashion? Trashion (a portmanteau of trash and fashion) is a term for art, jewellery, fashion and objects created from used, thrown-out, found and repurposed elements.
Students will learn basic patterns, shapes and constructions while developing their own design aesthetic. Girls will design and build out a merchandised apparel product through pattern making and construction skills using recycled materials. At the end of the 3 day camp, students will present their design concepts & finished product.
