WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?
Sharon was great about letting me know of opportunities my daughter might enjoy after she attended her first Dottie Rose event. The organization does a great job of helping their students feel comfortable while learning and having fun! The ice cream outting downtown was also a hit!

My daughter had an awesome experience at the Dottie Rose summer camp! She had an opportunity to learn about theatre at UNC Charlotte in a class taught by college professors. She also had an opportunity to learn about robotics and coding.

My experience with Dottie Rose foundation has been amazing. I get to learn new things and do a lot of things that I didn’t think I would do, but the dottie rose has really made me think about trying new things because ever since the first time I went, they have been telling me about other events and since I had so much fun the first time I agreed so I have been coming back ever since my first time with the Dottie Rose foundation.

Thank you so much! The girls had a blast and we are going to try to get them plugged into the camp this summer. Anytime I have all 3 girls sharing how fun something was and how much they learned we don’t have much feedback.

DRF has opened both of my daughter’s eyes to all the possibilities computer science and technology has to offer – all while having a blast! I am so grateful for all the camps and events DRF puts on that introduces such a fun, new world to these girls.

Both of my daughters have attended different events and both were wanting to know when the next event was taking place.

My daughter was done with coding. she felt like she had no more interest. Luckily her aunt signed her up and she was so elated. She enjoyed the classes and doing something different with her coding skills.

Our Digital Maker Studio has officially begun!
This is a program where 4th & 5th-grade girls will dive into a multifaceted world of creativity and STEM exploration. They paint digital masterpieces with pixels, animate stories through flipbooks, and engineer miniature bridges, learning fundamental principles of design and problem-solving along the way. Guided Finch robot challenges ignite their interest in coding and robotics, while hands-on gardening activities deepen their understanding of plant growth and nutrition. Through this dynamic blend of digital design, engineering, and horticulture, Digital Maker Studio empowers girls to embrace STEM with confidence and enthusiasm!

Board Member Spotlight: Sarah Conklin
Sarah grew up in the Midwest and landed in the Southeast to play Volleyball for UNC Charlotte. Since then she has built a multifaceted life in the Queen City. As a professional photographer for the past 17 years, she’s captured countless memories, while also utilizing her creativity as LoanBoss’ Creative Director and serving as editor/producer/co-host of the weekly Economic podcast, The Rate Guy. As a mom of five, she embraces the beautiful chaos of balancing all that is life. Sarah is also deeply involved in the North Carolina volleyball community as Director of NCHSBV League, Head Coach for Weddington High School Boys Volleyball, and USAV Carolina Region Boys Representative. Passionate about entrepreneurship and helping others find their path, she enjoys traveling and may be slightly obsessed with tackling Wordle everyday.
